Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Florida in Fort Myers is seeking a Medical Assistant to support front office operations—patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and payments—with cross-training to assist back-office MA duties as needed.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient service, accurate record-keeping, and collaboration within a mission-driven health center focused on reproductive health care. Prior MA experience is preferred; new grads considered.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 1 year of hands-on Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• New graduates from MA programs may be considered.
• Experience with reproductive health is helpful.
• Experience working with the public preferred.
• Ability to support front office operations while cross-training for back-office MA duties.
• Willingness to learn ultrasound support, AB lab and other skill enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, schedule appointments, verify insurance, collect payments and maintain documentation.
• Provide front office customer service and support cross-trained back-office MA tasks as needed.
• Assist with patient intake and preliminary data collection.
• Support exam rooms setup, prep, sanitization and basic clinical tasks.
• Uphold confidentiality and Planned Parenthood policies.
