Job summary

Concentra in Greer, South Carolina, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will prepare patients, take vital signs, assist providers, and perform routine medical tasks per clinician orders.

Key duties include DOT/non-DOT drug and alcohol testing, helping with examinations and procedures, managing front and back-office duties, and ensuring accurate documentation and a neat facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, or at least six months of direct patient care.
• Job-related experience includes medical assistant tasks and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.)
• Assist providers during examination and treatment
• Responsible for performing routine medical procedures as ordered and triaging emergent patients
• Prepare and assist clinician with procedure setup and injury care
• Apply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered
• Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the clinician
• Complete QA activities on equipment and testing processes
• Maintain supplies, clean rooms and stock exam rooms
• Maintain and operate medical devices with calibration and records
• Notify supervisor if equipment malfunctions or supplies needed
• Assist with patient flow and inform patients of wait times
• Handle front office duties: check in/out, authorizations, multi-line phone
• Follow HIPAA and safety rules; attend staff meetings
• Ensure neat, clean, and orderly facility; participate in monthly training
