Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers with patient assessment, documentation, and routine pre-examination procedures. The role includes triaging calls, obtaining vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with procedures while ensuring accurate records and HIPAA compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, basic knowledge of primary and specialty care, and experience in a physician clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of specialty and/or primary care settings.
• OSHA training compliance expected annually.
• Three to five years of experience in healthcare or physician clinic setting preferred.
• MA/CMA/RMA certification or equivalent required per CMS/Medicare guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Triages calls, schedules urgent/add-on visits, relays test results and arranges pre-certifications.
• Greet patients and take routine pre-exam data including vital signs; update patient records and process prescriptions.
• Assist provider with examinations and procedures.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms, set up equipment, and sterilize instruments.
• Maintain documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance across processes.
