US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Medical Assistant Float to support HeartPlace clinics in the Dallas/Fort Worth TX area. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs (BP, HR, weight).
• Verify and input medications into EMR; update as needed.
• Perform EKGs and print rhythm strips; assist in interpretation.
• Assist physicians with patient exams.
• Set up/monitor Holter, event, and loop recorders.
• Assist with stress tests and related interpretations.
• Handle prescription refills contact with patients.
• Manage pharmacy samples; remove expired items.
• Answer calls and messages; communicate with patients.
• Maintain CPR/Medical Assistant certifications.
• Travel between clinic locations as needed.
• Onsite work during scheduled hours; attend to duties.

Job Details: Job Location: HeartPlace - EP C - Plano, TX 75093, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School Diploma/GED, Job Category: Other Positions, US Heart and Vascular needs a full-time Medical Assistant Float to join our HeartPlace team in our clinics in the Dallas/Fort Worth TX area.

Responsibilities:

• Takes vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, etc.)
• Verifies and inputs patient medications into EMR. Making changes and additions as needed to the medication list.
• Responsible for EKG, rhythm strip, and signal average EKG hook-ups and printouts. (Proficiency Required)
• Assist physicians with patient exams as needed.
• Responsible for Holter monitor hook-ups and removals, event recorders and Loop recorders. (Proficiency Required)
• Ability to perform stress tests as needed and to assist in test interpretation.
• Takes pharmacy phone calls, reviews charts, and calls in prescription refills.
• Monitors pharmacy samples, removing from stock as expired.
• Receives and returns phone calls from patients and other external sources. Receives and returns portal messages in the EMR.
• Maintains current CPR and Medical Assistant certification.
• Performs other duties as required.
• May also be responsible for insurance precertification, prior authorization, procedure/surgery scheduling and coordinating transfers and admissions.
• Works onsite within the clinic during scheduled hours. Regular attendance is an essential part of this role.
• May be required to move between locations as needed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or Texas accredited GED.
• Current Medical Assistant certification.
• 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
• Current BCLS certification.
• Must have experience in administration of EKGs.
• Prior recent cardiology experience in a clinical capacity is required.
• Travel to multiple locations throughout the Tarrant County area is required
