Job summary

Montefiore's Division of Services for Addiction seeks a Program Manager to coordinate and manage an Intensive Outpatient program for Next Steps North and Vocational Services, and to oversee the daily operation of a large Opioid Treatment Program at Montefiore Wellness Centers.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, QHP or equivalent clinical qualification, and experience in staff training and supervision.

Qualifications

• Must have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
• Must possess good interpersonal, communication and group facilitation skills; able to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience in training and supervising staff is required.
• Knowledge of addiction treatment and working with marginalized populations is preferred.
• Experience with databases, including Excel, is required.

• Develop systems for timely and quality documentation; oversee admissions paperwork and chart reviews.
• Establish utilization review and quality improvement plans to meet treatment needs.

Overview

Over the past fifty years, Montefiore's Division of Services for Addiction has helped thousands of people enter recovery and re-join their families and communities. Through recovery, individuals are empowered to help find meaning in their lives and integrate back into their communities.

This position coordinates and assists in the management of an Intensive Outpatient treatment program for the Next Steps North Program and the Vocational Services Program at the Montefiore Wellness Centers and the Substance Abuse Treatment Programs. This position coordinates and assists in the daily management of a large Opioid Treatment Program. The staff member must assist in ensuring the smooth operation of both the programs in accordance with Federal, State and local regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development, implementation and enforcement of clinical policies, protocols and programs for Next Steps and Vocational Staff.
• Develop systems for maintaining timeliness and quality of documentation.
• Oversee the review of all admission paperwork, all active charts on a quarterly basis and all discharged charts upon termination.
• Establish and implement utilization review and quality improvement plan that review appropriate admissions, retention and discharge criteria is met and services reflect treatment needs.
• Consult with administrative and executive staff as needed to ensure counseling and vocational staff’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Hire, supervise, evaluate, and train counseling staff and vocational related internships.
• Observe counselor and vocational staff performance in groups and evaluation sessions to assure that they are conducted using best practices and in a manner that is compliant with all federal, state regulations.
• Determine productivity goals for vocational services and track staff progress.
• Define, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive range of vocational services and training plans that follow funding agency's expectations.
• Develop and maintain liaisons with hospitals, behavioral health, and other community agencies to develop recruitment strategies. Coordinate linkage projects with HRA and welfare reform initiatives in New York State, including the Substance Abuse Tracking and Reporting System (STARS). Oversee activities such as vocational/educational fairs and groups.
• Develop, systems to collect, monitor and report required data to OASAS. Evaluate and maintain databases with relevant vocational information and staff activities.
• Participate in clinic case conferences as needed regarding vocational, educational, and employment issues. Assist in training of NS and MMTP clinical staff.
• Coordinate vocational services between Montefiore Wellness Centers and Montefiore Substance Abuse Treatment Programs aligning policies and practices; provide direct training and supervision to vocational staff across sites.

Requirements

• Must be a Qualified Health Professional (QHP).
• CASAC preferred.
• Spanish speaking preferred.
• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field required.
• Experience in training and supervising staff required.
• Must possess good interpersonal, communication and group facilitation skills, be creative and able to work well in a collaborative team environment, ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Must be highly organized and able to work well independently.
• Knowledge of addiction treatment, preferred experience working with marginalized populations.
• Must have experience with databases, including Excel.

The regular hours are 6:30am – 2:30 pm and must be able to work various shifts and locations depending on operational needs.

This is a 100% grant funded position.
