Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners in Harrisburg, PA is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Operations Manager. You will oversee daily clinic operations, scheduling, and space usage to ensure smooth patient flow, exceptional service, and top-quality outcomes.

A current Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification is required. You will lead clinical staff, monitor performance, manage equipment maintenance, and ensure compliance with medical standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with effective hiring and motivating and managing a team.
  • Strong staff relations skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Health Administration, Nursing, or related healthcare field - or at least 5 year's experience in healthcare management is required. Ophthalmology or optometric management experience is a PLUS!
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certified Ophthalmic Technician licensure or another medical licensure preferred.
  • Must have the ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when receiving instructions from physicians or others, reading and interpreting procedures and related materials; examining and closely inspecting materials when using equipment; and working one-on-one with patients.
  • Leadership qualities, diplomacy, discretion, ability to enforce difficult positions, excellent communication, public speaking skills, and exceptional interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite; in particular Excel.

  • Enhances and improves patient experience investigating patient complaints, draws conclusions, and contacts patients for satisfaction resolutions.
  • Provides training and guidance to clinical staff; oversees performance reviews and monitors daily routine of technical staff; trains new technical staff.
  • Reviews reports to determine clinic needs and verifies clinic workflows; identifies areas of waste and opportunities for efficiency.
  • Oversees clinical equipment maintenance by coordinating a maintenance program with clinical staff for timely repairs and proper functioning.
  • Manages day-to-day operations of the practice and supervises physicians and staff following company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the highest degree of customer service and patient quality care is maintained at all times.
  • Ensures compliance with standard medical practice to manage and minimize risk.
  • Resolves any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthful clinic atmosphere.
  • Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends and developments.
  • Develops and maintains rapport and positive relationships with providers.
  • Meets operational goals set by management.
