Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager for St. Rita's Medical Center ICU Stepdown. The role balances clinical practice with administrative oversight, guiding a nursing team and coordinating patient care delivery with an interprofessional team.

You will support unit leaders in planning, ensuring safety, and preparing for regulatory surveys while fostering professional growth and a culture of excellence across the department.

Qualifications

• BSN strongly preferred.
• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact.
• BLS certification preferred before patient care; must obtain from approved source.
• Certifications based on unit leadership: PALS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, National Board Certification Specialty, Nurse Executive Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of nurses and clinical support.
• Supports managers/directors on larger units.
• Performs limited managerial responsibilities and provides ground support for frontline staff.
• Assists in planning and supervising unit/department goals and objectives.
• Maintains readiness for regulatory surveyors.
• Acts as mentor and clinical resource for staff.
• Models core culture and safety behaviors to prevent harm.
• Drives change management and performance improvement initiatives.
