Job summary

Mercy Health seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager for St. Rita's Medical Center ICU Stepdown. The role combines clinical and administrative leadership to supervise a nursing team and coordinate activities across the unit.

The successful candidate will have a BSN (or equivalent), an active RN license, and experience in a relevant acuity area with leadership responsibilities. Mercy Health offers comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (strongly preferred).
• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required).
• Certifications may be required based on unit overseen (PALS/ACLS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC, etc.).
• Experience: 2 years nursing with 1 year in acuity level of desired area (preferred).
• Charge nurse or management experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of nurses and clinical support.
• Supports managers/directors on larger units.
• Performs limited managerial responsibilities and provides ground support for frontline staff.
• Plans and supervises unit/department goals and objectives.
• Maintains readiness for regulatory surveyors.
• Acts as professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource.
• Fosters an environment for inter-disciplinary collaboration and growth.
• Models core culture and safety behaviors and implements high reliability principles.
• Drives change management, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives within assigned areas.
• Supports mission and adheres to organizational policies.
