Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year experience preferred.
• National Certification required within 1 year of hire, if not already certified.
• Currently registered or registry eligible (ASCP or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Organizes daily workload to achieve acceptable performance outcomes, recognizing weak areas and implementing appropriate resolution.
• Processes patient specimens, properly documenting identification of each specimen processed so that the correct results are available to the clinician.
• Maintains appropriate records in accordance with guidelines of regulatory agencies.
• Correlates abnormal laboratory results with pathologic and physiologic stats to determine validity and reasonableness of data.
• Coordinates activities of laboratory technicians and support personnel as required.
