Job summary

You will collect specimens, perform venipuncture, and ensure proper labeling and specimen integrity, using Meditech or comparable systems to route reports and billing.

Qualifications

• Certificate preferred.
• Licensure or certification as required.
• Experience in clinical laboratory or patient registration is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Acts as primary contact for customers about laboratory services.
• Registers patients and performs order entry.
• Recommends process changes based on observations.
• Prints custom requisitions and dispatches couriers.
• Distributes reports and answers client inquiries.
• Collects blood and specimens from patients of all ages.
• Performs venipuncture and capillary punctures; ensures sample integrity.
• Uses Meditech or similar systems for billing and routing.
• Maintains clean, organized work areas and lab safety.
• Assists in training new co-workers.
• Verifies patient identification and proper specimen labeling.
