Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital – Franklin Campus in Franklin, WI. Work schedule varies by week in the 2:30pm–11:00pm shift, with responsibilities spanning specimen evaluation, SOP-guided testing, instrument troubleshooting, reagent evaluation, and timely reporting of results.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a chemical/biological science or Clinical Laboratory Science, and 1+ year of lab testing experience or an MLS degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree.
• Preferred: MLS generalist experience; blood bank; ASCP or AMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
