Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Ascension Calumet Hospital in Chilton, Wisconsin. Work Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6am - 6pm.

As a technologist you will determine specimen acceptability, perform procedures per SOP, monitor instruments, and report timely results to support quality patient care. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science and 1 year of lab testing experience or an MLS degree; ASCP/AMT

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
