Job summary

• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and automated instrumentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory testing across chemistry, hematology, immunology, and urinalysis.
• Ensure accuracy, precision, and timely reporting of laboratory results.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analyzers.
• Adhere to QC and QA protocols; identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Enter, verify, and release results within the LIS.
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and state requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to clarify orders and communicate critical values.
• Ensure proper specimen handling, processing, and integrity.
• Follow safety, infection control, and OSHA guidelines.
• Inventory and order laboratory and office supplies.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Technologist to support our Hematology/Oncology of the Treasure Coast Group practice. In this role, you will perform both routine and complex laboratory testing while ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and reliable results to our providers. This position plays a critical role in supporting clinical decision-making and delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• - Perform routine and complex laboratory testing across areas including chemistry, hematology, immunology, and urinalysis
• - Ensure accuracy, precision, and timely reporting of laboratory results
• - Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analyzers
• - Adhere to established quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) protocols; identify and resolve discrepancies
• - Accurately enter, verify, and release results within the laboratory information system
• - Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (CLIA, CAP, and state requirements)
• - Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to clarify orders and communicate critical values
• - Ensure proper specimen handling, processing, and integrity
• - Follow all safety, infection control, and confidentiality guidelines
• - Understands and follows all safety, infection control, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines
• - Inventory and order laboratory and office supplies.
• - Communicates with laboratory staff and its clients to ensure quality patient care.
• - Respects and maintains the confidentiality of information relative to practice and patients.
• - Clean and restock laboratory facility.

Qualifications & Requirements

• - Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related life science required
• - 2-5 years of clinical laboratory experience
• - Licensure/Certification: Active Florida Medical Laboratory Technologist license required
