SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is seeking a Laboratory/Phlebotomy professional to perform phlebotomy across age groups and manage specimen processing. The role supports accreditation standards and regulatory compliance, ensuring high-quality lab services for internal and external customers.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, phlebotomy certification, MLA certification within one year, and clinical competency within three months with annual recertification.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification required.
• Medical Lab Assistant Certification required within 1 year of hire.
• Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and yearly.
• 2 years experience in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy on all age groups.
• Processes specimens: labeling, centrifugation, testing, storage, and sending to reference lab.
• Maintains equipment and meets laboratory accreditation guidelines.
• Ensures QC and takes corrective action as needed.
• Performs daily QA review to ensure testing staff compliance.
• Maintains patient and laboratory records and supports coding.
• Inventories and orders departmental supplies.
