Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist for the Day shift in Anchorage, AK. You will provide accurate and courteous specimen collection and receiving, perform bedside tests, and ensure proper processing of specimens for testing within hospital and laboratory policies.

You will enter data into hospital and laboratory computer systems related to patient billing and charting, contributing to efficient operations and quality care in a busy clinical lab environment.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED.
• 2 years Phlebotomy experience or one year phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting.
• Less than one year experience will be considered for PAMC Lab employees of six months or greater with approval from Director.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient, accurate, and courteous service for PAMC patients or residents of Nursing Home Clients. Provides accurate and timely collection and receiving of specimens for all patients in accordance with medical center and laboratory policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations.
• Performs bedside tests (bleeding times) as requested.
• Accurately enters data into hospital and laboratory computer systems related to patient billing and charting.
• Performs processing functions to assure integrity of specimens for testing.
