Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technician

Are you an experienced Clinical Lab Professional looking for a new challenge or starting your career in Clinical Lab Science? Labcorp invites you to join our team as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in Asheville, NC. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, contributing to our mission: "Improving Health, Improving Lives."

Work Schedule

1st shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Primary location in Asheville, NC, with float coverage in Mars Hill and Hickory, NC.

Job Responsibilities
  • Determine specimen acceptability based on established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Replenish testing supplies as needed.
  • Assist with specimen processing when required.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements—MT or MLT degree.
  • Previous clinical laboratory testing experience preferred.
  • Experience in Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Chemistry preferred.
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • High attention to detail, with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must pass a standardized color vision test.
  • Flexibility for overtime or shift changes based on business needs.
