Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Current license or temporary license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Specialist in the state of practice.
• ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist.
• Any incumbents certified by ASCP on or after January 1, 2004 must complete the ASCP Certification Maintenance Program.

Responsibilities

• Performs, develops and interprets routine and/or specialized laboratory testing independently within established time frames.
• Performs quality control and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting and documents corrective actions.
• Adheres to regulatory compliance and accreditation standards; follows safety guidelines and proficiency testing protocols.
• Participates in performance improvement and cost reduction by managing supply and reagent inventory.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality according to compliance programs.
