Job summary

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform a wide range of analyses in a busy hospital lab. You will ensure specimen integrity, run tests, report results, and uphold HIPAA and safety protocols.

Required is a Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or related field and a CA CLS license; ASCP/NCA preferred. Prior lab experience is valued; full-time, day shift in Ukiah, CA with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies or equivalent is required.
• Clinical laboratory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Employs positive patient identification procedures to ensure the integrity of each specimen for pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing.
• Performs proper specimen collection, labeling, handling, processing and storage, ensuring HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines are followed.
• Reviews testing results for validity and communicates results to clinicians, expediting critical values.
• Performs equipment maintenance, inventories and restocks reagents and supplies as needed.
• Orients, instructs and supervises laboratory assistants and clerks as needed.
