Adventist Health Ukiah Valley is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee all testing and coordinate POCT. This role functions as a CLS when needed and leads education and competency programs for instrumentation and procedures.

The candidate will establish test performance characteristics, evaluate new tech, liaise with departments, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage staffing and QA across the lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies or equivalent.
• Five years' clinical laboratory experience.
• Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in state of employment.
• Current ASCP or NCA certification.

Responsabilités

• Oversees all laboratory testing and coordinates all point of care testing (POCT).
• Functions as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist when needed.
• Identifies education and competency needs and conducts training programs on instrumentation, technology and procedure.
• Establishes test performance characteristics including precision, accuracy, reference ranges and reportable ranges.
• Evaluates new developments in laboratory instrumentation, procedures, reagents and automation for possible implementation.
• Acts as a liaison to other departments for the laboratory specialty.
• Coordinates equipment and instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration."
• Oversees quality control and ensures compliance with CLIA, FDA, CAP, JC, AABB and OSHA.
• Manages staffing to ensure coverage.
• Recommends promotions, reassignment, recognition, and personnel needs.
• Plans and conducts training programs for medical technicians and medical technologists and new employees.
• Oversees QA and preventive maintenance for the assigned section.
• Maintains all sectional quality control records.
