Qualifications

• MT certification required or obtained within 18 months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by chemical analyses.
• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopy.
• Prepares blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions with compatibility tests.
• Processes, reads, and reports cultures and microbiology procedures.
• Ensures operation and calibration of lab equipment and maintains inventories.
• Maintains laboratory supplies and anticipates reorder needs.
