Job summary

McLaren Health Care, headquartered in Grand Blanc, Michigan, is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform core lab analyses and support transfusion services. Shift times are 14:30-22:30, with on-call and related duties as described.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in medical technology and MT certification (or to be certified within 18 months). This role is part of Michigan’s largest cancer network and linked to McLaren’s comprehensive care

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field, or an associate degree in medical technology or related field.
MT certification or certified within 18 months of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses.
Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques.
Prepares blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by performing blood group, type, and compatibility tests.
Processes, reads, and reports cultures and antibiotic sensitivities; performs microbiology procedures.
Ensures operation and calibration of laboratory analyzers and related equipment; performs preventive maintenance.
