Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Science or other biological science.
• Demonstrated successful clinical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate medical terminology and technical procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and take appropriate actions with clinical results.
• Demonstrated organizational skills within a lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls, monitor call list, report results and document calls.
• Scan requisitions, organize and file test reports and documents.
• Identify and correct incorrect orders and specimen issues.
• Communicate with lab staff, clinicians and customers while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Manage inventory, unpack shipments, stock lab supplies, reconcile invoices.
• Assist lab leaders with developing technical procedures and projects.
• Accession and process samples with accuracy and prioritize distribution of patient samples.
• Access LIS/HIS to accession, request additional information.
• Assist in problem solving for duplicate or missing samples.
• Perform quality control and proficiency testing for waived to high complexity tests.
