Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM) to join our donation-centered laboratory team.

The role involves training evaluation, protocol development, and acting as a technical advisor within a fast-growing plasma-derived medicine organization. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science and qualifies as testing personnel under CLIA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science or Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science.
• ASCP certification (or eligibility) is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work diverse shifts and overtime hours, as required.
• Ability to read, understand, write and follow SOPs, validation protocols, etc. and to complete documentation clearly.

Responsibilities

• Process, evaluate and document initial training and competency assessment of other testing personnel.
• Write and revise testing, production, and validation protocols.
• Act as technical advisor for other testing personnel.
• Performs a full range of laboratory tests, from the most routine to the most complex, with little or no supervision.
• Responsible for specimen processing, test performance and for reporting test results.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problem or bring it to the immediate attention of supervisor or director.
• May be cross-trained to perform additional tests as required.
• Operate and interact with complex precision instruments and automated equipment.
• Provide Quality Assurance support to Laboratory Operations.
