Job summary

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network is seeking a Second Shift laboratory technician to perform high complexity testing, including HLA typing, flow cytometry and serology, with strict adherence to QA and documentation standards.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication with clinicians and transplant coordinators, and a commitment to maintaining equipment and laboratory quality controls. This is a fulltime, on-site position with shift-based hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in one of the biological, chemical and/or clinical laboratory sciences, medical technology or a related field
• CHT and/or ASCP certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Advance Gift of Hope's mission, vision and core values; adhere to policies and procedures.
• Perform high complexity testing including HLA typing, flow cytometry and serology crossmatching, HLA antibody screening, ABO typing and infectious disease testing
• Document test results and interpret complex reaction patterns; identify probable causes for irregular results
• Communicate results to internal and external customers including clinicians, transplant coordinators, and other OPO personnel
• Enter, retrieve, and transmit test data into laboratory information systems
• Maintain quality control records and logs; prepare, record and store data for reference
• Monitor supply levels and maintain cleanliness of work area per lab standards
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and document deviations using QA systems
