Job summary

BayCare Health System is hiring a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II - Hematology at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, FL. This full-time day shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) with every‑other weekend requires advanced diagnostic testing, quality control, and prompt reporting of results per policy.

Education and experience include an Associates in Medical Technology or related field, Florida CLS license, and 2 years of clinical laboratory experience. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Florida CLS license required.
• 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced diagnostic testing and quality control procedures, prepares reagents, and reports results in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Conducts moderate to high complexity testing, maintains laboratory systems, and assists with training and orientation of testing personnel.
• Evaluates competencies and supports continuous improvement in lab operations.
• Demonstrates leadership in maintaining compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across all testing activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
