Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist under supervision of a CLIA General Supervisor to process specimens, perform high/moderate complexity testing, troubleshoot issues and report accurate results.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, maintain quality control, collaborate with teams to support patient care and workflow efficiency, and participate in training and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA personnel requirements for High Complexity testing.
• One year healthcare or lab-related work experience preferred.
• ASCP, AMT or defined equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Specimen Processing and Accessioning: evaluate specimens and test orders for acceptability.
• Specimen Testing: perform testing according to SOPs.
• Result Reporting: correlate test results with diagnoses and previous results.
• Computer Skills: use HIS and LIS software systems in job duties.
• Equipment Operation: operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment.
• Quality Control: follow QC policies and document calibrations.
• Proficiency Testing: participate in proficiency testing and treat samples accordingly.
• Inventory Management: rotate stock and monitor expiration dates.
• Training: assist with team member and student training.
• Safety: follow Atlantic Health safety procedures.
