Job summary

FMOL Health in Lafayette, LA seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Generalist to perform high complexity testing and oversee laboratory procedures for all ages. The role collaborates with the Lab Director, Supervisors and Pathologists to maintain quality and accuracy.

The CLS-G will handle independent testing, supervise training, and assist with instrument calibration, quality control, and new procedure implementation as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in science or Medical Technology program.
• License: LSBME licensed as Clinical Lab Scientist, CLS-G or CLS-S.

Responsibilities

• Performs high complexity procedures in all areas requiring independent judgment.
• Operates laboratory equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensures specimens are properly identified and meet quality standards.
• Assists with phlebotomy, specimen accessioning, and customer inquiries.
• Prepares drafts for new procedures and participates in inspections (CAP, JCAH).
• Supervises/coordinates training of CLS and MLT staff.
