Job summary

Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for Evening/Nights in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service. The CLS develops, performs, evaluates, interprets, and validates the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results per current regulations.

Testing on various specimens uses manual or automated methods; non-certified applicants may be considered provisionally with supervision until certification is obtained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Certification options: MLS (ASCP BOC or AMT) or MT (ASCP BOR or AMT) or categorical/specialist certifications.
• Non-certified routes allowed temporarily with supervision until certification is obtained.

Responsibilities

• Develop, perform, evaluate, interpret, and validate laboratory procedures and results.
• Handle testing on a variety of biological specimens using manual or automated methods.
• Ensure adherence to current laboratory regulatory requirements.
