Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform clinical laboratory testing of blood and body fluids, supporting patient care with accurate diagnostic data.

You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, while adhering to quality control and safety protocols in an evening US shift.

Qualifications

• Must hold Louisiana CLS/CLG license.
• Evening shift compatible with U.S. hours.
• Experience with ABO/Rh typing and serology is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure specimen acceptance, labeling, accessioning, and distribution.
• Prepare reagents and controls; record in log.
• Inoculate specimens on appropriate media.
• Initiate blood orders and communicate with supplier.
• Operate primary and secondary instrumentation, perform manual and micro‑methods.
• Compare patient results, investigate discrepancies, and report within turnaround times.
• Prepare and interpret gram stains, wet and dry preparations.
• Perform ABO/Rh typing, antibody detection, compatibility testing, and serology procedures.
• Prepare blood components, maintain aseptic technique and storage.
• Analyze quality control; perform precision, accuracy, and linearity studies.
• Complete proficiency surveys and reagent QC as per manuals.
• Assist in orientation of new personnel.
• Disinfect work surfaces and maintain inventory of consumables.
• Document critical values, duplicate checks, and reports.
• Receive, process, and preserve tissue and non‑tissue specimens.
• Assist with bone marrow aspirations and special stains per protocols.

• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Generalist (CLG) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) by Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Evening shift work compatible with U.S. hours.
