Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. You will perform broad laboratory testing, evaluate results, and ensure specimen integrity from receipt to reporting.

You will operate, calibrate, and document instrument performance while adhering to universal precautions and safety policies. The role emphasizes evening shifts in a fast-paced hospital laboratory, with opportunities to contribute to patient care and data accuracy across bacteriology, serology, and hematology

Qualifications

• Licensed Clinical Lab Generalist (CLG) or CLS as required by the Louisiana State Board.
• Experience with manual and automated lab procedures and quality control.
• Ability to process specimens from multiple sources and maintain chain of custody.

Responsibilities

• Ensure specimens are acceptable for testing and prepare reagents and controls as needed.
• Record results, verify documentation, and report within established turn‑around times.
• Operate and maintain clinical laboratory instruments, perform quality checks, and troubleshoot issues.
