Job summary
AdventHealth Palm Coast is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support cytopreparatory staining, specimen handling, and phlebotomy. You will collect samples, prepare cultures, and maintain safety standards while supporting clinical staff and patients.

Qualifications
- High school diploma required; phlebotomy training preferred.
- Phlebotomy license or certification preferred.
- Additional credentialing may apply per unit/state.
Responsibilities
- Perform cytopreparatory staining and accessioning of surgical cases.
- Receive and set up primary specimen cultures; inoculate Petri dishes.
- Clean and disinfect equipment and spaces; maintain inventory.
- Assist in performance improvement activities and evaluate new equipment.
- Provide customer service and educate clinical staff within guidelines.
- Collect patient and test information for accounts; may perform phlebotomy.
- Handle preanalytical processes and transport specimens.
- Perform point-of-care testing and report results.
