Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a part-time/PRN laboratory support role to assist with a wide range of patient testing and specimen handling. You will perform point-of-care testing, quality control, specimen processing, and data entry into laboratory systems, while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires phlebotomy experience or training, good communication, and the ability to work independently within a hospital lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform point of care testing, quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation and result reporting.
• Assist in handling and processing specimens, including receiving, preparing, and transporting.
• Perform blood collection (venipuncture and capillary) as required by department.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, assist with quality assurance and instrument calibration.
• Accurately document patient data, orders, and results in LIS and related systems.
• Adhere to safety policies, PPE usage, and infection control procedures.
• Assist with education of staff and trainees as needed.
• Support performance improvement initiatives within the lab and hospital.
