Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant I to support critical blood product preparation and laboratory operations. Qualifications

• Education and experience requirements as listed: bachelor's or associate degree or high school diploma with 2 years of clinical/research lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Process blood products (FFP, RBCs, platelets) following regs and quality standards.
• Coordinate and facilitate lab testing by ordering tests and communicating with departments.
• Manage documentation via data entry, transcription, printing, faxing, and electronic channels.
• Monitor lab results and requests through calls, emails, and other channels.
• Assist with quality control and QA activities supporting lab excellence.
• Support routine equipment maintenance and inventory management.
• Assist training and education for staff and students.

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to support critical blood product preparation and laboratory operations. In this role, you’ll help ensure that blood components are processed safely, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory standards while supporting laboratory testing, quality initiatives, and day-to-day operations.

This position offers the opportunity to play an important role behind the scenes, helping provide the high-quality laboratory services that support patient care and research efforts across the organization.

The starting annual salary for this position is $44,560 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package.

What You'll Do

• Process blood products collected at Roswell Park, including Fresh Frozen Plasma, Red Blood Cells, and Platelets.
• Follow established regulatory and quality standards to ensure blood products are prepared accurately and safely.
• Coordinate and facilitate laboratory testing by ordering appropriate tests and communicating with internal departments.
• Manage laboratory-related documentation through data entry, transcription, printing, faxing, and electronic communication.
• Monitor and communicate laboratory results and requests through phone, email, and other communication channels.
• Assist with quality control procedures and quality assurance activities that support laboratory excellence.
• Support routine equipment maintenance and ensure laboratory resources are functioning properly.
• Maintain laboratory inventory levels and coordinate supply ordering.
• Assist with training and educational activities for employees and students.
• Contribute to a collaborative environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

1. Matriculation in a Bachelor's degree program; or
2. Matriculation in an Associate's degree program; or
3. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in a clinical or research setting requiring the use of medical/laboratory terminology.

NOTE: Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
