Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant I to support laboratory testing, perform clerical and computer tasks, accession specimens, and assist with waived testing as required. The role includes serving as a liaison between patients, physicians, nursing staff and the laboratory.
Required education is a High School Diploma or equivalent, with an Associate degree and ASCP/ASPT certification preferred.

Role Summary:Performs various functions relative to the Laboratory testing, to include but not limited to: clerical and computer functions; specimen accessioning and processing, performing a variety of phlebotomy techniques and assisting with other specimen collections and performing specified waived testing as required. Represents the organization in the inpatient or outpatient setting serving as the liaison between the client (Patient, physicians, nursing, etc.) and the laboratory departments.
