Labcorp seeks a Technologist Trainee in Itasca, IL to support specimen testing and instrumentation operation in a fast-paced clinical laboratory. New grads welcomed with full training provided and shift schedule as listed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology and may include ASCP/AMT certification. Prior lab exposure is preferred; dependable teamwork and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.

Responsabilidades

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
