Qualifications

• Bachelor's in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or related field.
• Current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license in the state of practice or applicable trainee/assistant license with license within 90 days of hire.
• ASCP, AMT or AAB generalist certification required within 90 days of hire; other specifics apply for Academic Medical Center facilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized laboratory testing accurately within established time frames.
• Performs quality control and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting with proper documentation.
• Adheres to regulatory and accreditation standards and safety guidelines.
• Supports performance improvement, data collection and cost-reduction initiatives; manages supplies and reagents.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Interacts professionally with patients, families and staff; may perform phlebotomy when appropriate.
• Follows policies and completes duties as assigned.
