Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a Clinical Technologist I (certified) to perform lab tests and process patient samples, operate analytical instruments, and ensure data accuracy within the QA/QC program. This is a full-time, onsite position at the South Lake Union campus.

Responsibilities include handling specimens, reporting results in LIMS, preparing reagents, performing maintenance, and supporting high‑quality clinical testing under tight timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Must meet CLIA education requirements for high complexity testing.
• Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and word processing.
• Manual computation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Color vision ability.
• Experience with high complexity lab testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handles biological specimens and products; performs clinical assays and lab processes by SOPs.
• Operates analytical instruments and analyzes clinical data; reports results.
• Performs laboratory quality controls measurements.
• Prepares reagents and materials for clinical procedures.
• Enters patient and specimen information in LIMS.
• Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting on instruments.
