Job summary

Advocate Health Cabarrus Laboratory is seeking a qualified medical technologist/MLS to perform laboratory analyses on received specimens. The role ensures quality, efficiency, and safety in all technical duties and supports accreditation processes.

Required is a Bachelor's degree with MT/MLS or equivalent registry eligibility within one year of hire; AT least one ASCP/MLS equivalent credential is expected. The position includes a sign-on option and a 40-hour work week at 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency and follows testing procedures and QA guidelines for equipment and work area; documents corrective action for non-conforming events.
• Prepares reagents and maintains adequate supply; manages inventory to reduce waste/expense.
• Exercises clinical judgment to assess priorities and resolve test-system issues through department channels.
• Maintains shift-to-shift communications with leadership regarding issues affecting patient care or department operations.
• Participates in procedure reviews and documentation related to accreditation; adheres to regulatory requirements (CAP, TJC, OSHA).
