Job summary

Steward Health Care seeks a Medical Technologist to perform routine and special clinical laboratory tests across multiple sections using automated equipment, manual methods, and microscopy. You will interact with patients and staff, maintain professional standards, and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.

Applicants must have a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science or Biological Science, and be eligible for Louisiana CLS licensure within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or Biological Science required.
• Clinical internship in an approved hospital preferred.
• Louisiana Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license required; new graduates must be eligible for and pursue Louisiana State license; license obtained within 90 days of employment; training under direct supervision until licensed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine or special clinical laboratory tests using automated equipment, manual testing, and microscopic analysis to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Interact with patients and hospital staff while maintaining professional standards.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and other laboratory duties as assigned.
