St. Luke's Health - Memorial Lufkin is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to perform clinical laboratory procedures and report data essential for disease diagnosis and treatment.

You will operate waived and moderate tests with accuracy under leadership direction. Candidates should have an Associate of Science in a biological or chemical science per CLIA, plus military lab training or a GED with lab training.

Qualifications

• Associates Of Science in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA.
• High School GED General Studies completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupational speciality of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician).
• High School Graduate General Studies completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupational speciality of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician).

Responsibilities

• Performs lab test procedures on patient specimens adhering to SOPs to ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Provides excellent patient care through clinical correlation of results and rapid notification of caregivers of critical values.
• Ensures major automated equipment is operational by performing maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting procedures; including contacting instrument vendor for assistance or repair.
• Performs required calibration and quality control procedures and maintains records to ensure tests are being performed within established parameters.
• Performs proficiency testing as assigned and reviews results with laboratory clinical leaders.
• Assists in evaluation and generation of compliant documentation for the validation of new procedures and equipment to provide the physician with the most current laboratory technology.

Education
