Job summary

PhoebeHealth in Americus, Georgia seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform analytical tests on human body substances, correlate data, and report results to physicians and nurses. The role monitors quality assurance, maintains instrumentation, and follows approved protocols to support patient care.

Four nine-hour shifts per week, day shift, with potential phlebotomy duties and opportunities to orient/train new staff while acting as designated person in charge as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, or biological science OR meet CLIA minimum requirements for high complexity testing personnel. Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology Preferred

Responsibilities

• Produces accurate and timely results according to established procedures
• Correlates and interprets test data.
• Uses sound clinical judgement when evaluating laboratory results.
• Works independently with little or no supervision.
• Documents work performed and recognizes abnormal and critical results.
• Monitors the quality assurance system, including quality control.
• Understands equipment operation.
• Maintains equipment in working order. Troubleshoots equipment problems.
• Uses technology to increase productivity. Adapts to new technology
• Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion.
• Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc.
• Ensures that documentation is tailored to expected readers / users.
• Uses correct terminology.
• Conforms to required style and format.
