Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Orlando, FL is seeking a Lab Technician to perform high-level medical laboratory processing for specimens in clinical trials.

You will initiate improvements, process and ship PK samples, and train on procedures per sponsor instructions while maintaining EMR records and sample logs. The role requires phlebotomy training, a current BLS certification, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Vocational or technical training in laboratory processes and/or phlebotomy.
• A current BLS certification.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements for safe handling of blood and body fluids.
• Experience in venipuncture and blood processing.
• The ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
• The ability to work effectively with staff and external sponsors.
• At least one year of clinical laboratory and phlebotomy or equivalent experience.

Responsabilidades

• Initiate improvements, tools, processes and forms to enhance the efficiency and the quality of work in the lab.
• Process and ship pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic and all other samples according to sponsor instructions.
• Be the primary processor and trainer for specialized procedures requested by study sponsors.
• Attend the lab portion of the site initiation visit (SIV) when possible.
• Provide assistance in understanding a lab manual when required.
• Prepare study supplies/source documents necessary for obtaining lab samples prior to patient treatment.
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) for source documentation.
• Maintain accurate freezer sample logs and records of sample acquisition and shipping.
• Schedule appropriate courier for sample shipments and ensure adequate dry ice availability.
• Interface with Research nurses to ensure correct lab kits prior to patient visits and collect specimens per lab manual.
