Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a compassionate Phlebotomy Technician to join our Florida lab team in Tavares. You will collect blood samples, perform waived testing when applicable, and ensure accurate labeling and handling of specimens using LIS and standard safety practices.

Requirements include a high school diploma, completed phlebotomy training, and 1+ year healthcare experience. You will work in a full-time daytime schedule, with opportunities for growth and commitment to patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
• Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program [Preferred]
• 1+ year of experience in AdventHealth Lab [Preferred]
• 1+ year of relevant healthcare experience [Required]

Responsibilities

• May perform point of care testing and related QC and reporting.
• Handle blood specimen collection (phlebotomy) for all ages.
• Process and transport patient specimens; operate preanalytical instruments.
• Train new staff and students; participate in performance improvement.
• Ensure safety, PPE, infection control and chemical handling.
