Qualifications

• Associates or higher in MLT or related field per ASCP Regulations.
• MLT Certificate required or obtainable within 180 days of hire.
• Alternative: Associate or bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience and obtain MLT certificate within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized studies on blood, urine and body fluids as requisitioned by physician.
• Maintains quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of results and instrument performance.
• Trains/mentors staff; participates in staff meetings and in-services.
• Ensures proper labeling, collection, receipt, storage and disposal of specimens.
• Complies with hospital policies and safety procedures.
