Job summary

Memorial Health System in Belpre, Ohio is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform laboratory analyses and obtain samples for testing. The role includes monitoring instruments, ensuring quality control, and reporting results to physicians.

The technician will train students and new staff, use Meditech for specimen batching, and assist with off-site sample collection while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with accreditation guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Lab Technology required.
• Board of Certification eligible; ASCP certification preferred.
• WV MLT license required when working at a West Virginia site.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen testing and operates laboratory instruments.
• Obtains specimens for analysis in the hospital and at off-site locations.
• Maintains equipment and performs quality control per guidelines.
• Directs and trains students and new lab employees in procedures and operation of instruments.
• Utilizes Meditech to create site batches for specimen transport.
• Replaces supplies and documents reports and recalls alert values to physicians.
