Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at UAB St. Vincent’s East in Birmingham, AL. The role involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures and ensuring accurate test results to support patient care.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate degree in Chemical/Biological sciences. Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of clinical lab testing experience and ASCP or AMT certification. Sign-on bonus of $5,000 for external candidates.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology required.
Strong documentation and computer skills.
Familiarity with laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions per SOPs.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results for quality patient care.
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
