Actalent in Peoria, AZ seeks a Lab Technician to perform venipuncture, prepare specimens, and run CLIA-moderate complexity tests in a new clinical lab. You will maintain LIS records, perform QC, and monitor inventory while ensuring compliance and patient care.

The role requires high school diploma with phlebotomy certification preferred and experience with hematology/chemistry analyzers; the site operates weekdays 8am–5pm onsite.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent; Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Formal training in laboratory testing in a moderate-complexity lab.
• Experience with venipuncture and specimen handling.
• Familiarity with LIS systems and electronic medical records.

Aufgaben

• Perform venipuncture and other approved specimen collection procedures with accuracy, professionalism, and patient care in mind.
• Ensure proper patient identification and labeling of all specimens.
• Centrifuge, aliquot, and prepare specimens for analysis according to established protocols; ensure proper storage and stability.
• Provide compassionate, professional communication during specimen collection and testing-related interactions.
• Perform daily quality control (QC) procedures and instrument calibration as required; identify shifts, trends, or out-of-range results and elevate appropriately.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment according to manufacturer and laboratory guidelines; perform routine maintenance and document activities.
• Conduct CLIA-moderate complexity laboratory procedures according to manufacturer instructions, laboratory SOPs and policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Record and verify in-house laboratory test results in the laboratory information system (LIS) with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Monitor inventory and restock phlebotomy and laboratory supplies as needed.
• Ensure all daily logs, maintenance records, and documentation are complete, accurate, and up to date.
• Follow CLIA, OSHA, and facility policies regarding safety, documentation, and quality assurance.
• Identify and report critical results promptly to ordering providers in accordance with established procedures.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and team members regarding test results and specimen issues.
• Use equipment such as Horiba C400 for chemistry (about 13 tests) and BSH 560 for hematology analyzer.
• Handle samples including blood, urine, serum, and stool; conduct tests only on blood and serum.
