Job summary

The UW Medicine - Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in Seattle, WA is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) 1 for the Phlebotomy & Specimen Processing Services (PSPS) Team at UW Medical Center - Montlake.

You will perform specimen processing and phlebotomy for inpatients and outpatients, while delivering excellent customer service and supporting accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent AND one (1) year of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience.
• OR Completion of a laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
• OR Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing: receiving, sorting, prioritizing, and matching specimens to requisitions.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages.
• Respond to inquiries from patients, clients, and hospital staff with courteous service.
