Job summary

UW Medicine in Seattle seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) 1 to join the Phlebotomy & Specimen Processing Services (PSPS) Team at Harborview Medical Center. You will collect venipuncture and capillary samples, process specimens, and provide courteous patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role emphasizes teamwork, training of new staff, and adherence to accreditation standards (JCAHO, CLIA, CAP).

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent plus 1 year of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience.
• Completion of a laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform Specimen Processing Activities: receiving, sorting, prioritizing specimens; centrifuging and aliquoting; processing timed urine collections; data entry; review lab test orders.
