Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Laboratory Aide to perform technical and clerical duties under supervision. You will prepare and process specimens, enter orders, and assist with pre- and post-analytical tasks to support testing workflows.

The role requires basic education and up to one year of related experience, with attention to detail and strong teamwork. This on-site position offers exposure to lab operations and patient sample handling.

Qualifications

• Organization skills, manual dexterity, customer service, communication, teamwork and computer skills are required.
• Six months experience in a clinical or microbiology laboratory and/or one year handling biological specimens preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, processes and accession specimens for testing procedures.
• Assists technical personnel with pre and post analytical duties.
• Registers specimens following Patient Access protocols and orders tests in LIS/CoPath systems.
• Receives specimens in the LIS and distributes to departments for testing.
• Retrieves specimens from storage for add-ons or repeats.
